Security camera video of crashes at South Omaha roundabout prompts call for safety review

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A roundabout designed to make a busy South Omaha intersection safer is doing its job, according to the city council member for the area.

But a business neighbor questions whether engineers need to make some adjustments — and he has video evidence.

Crashes caught on camera

Rey Marquez, a business neighbor near 42nd and Q, has security camera footage showing multiple crashes at the roundabout. In one video, a driver accelerates out of the roundabout and crashes into a pole, causing the vehicle to roll over. First responders treated the driver at the scene, but there was no serious injury.
