RIO RANCHO, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Transportation added delineators, signs and pavement markings on New Mexico 528 after 25 crashes in four years raised safety concerns along one section of Highway 528.
State officials admit nine of those crashes could have been prevented with a traffic signal.
Kimberly Gallegos, public information officer for the New Mexico Department of Transportation, said, “What delineators are, are these plastic thin tubes, and they’re actually guiding drivers to make a right turn in and right turn out only at the intersection now.”…
