SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Those who rely on Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) and Medi-Cal benefits might be the victims of scams targeting their benefits, San Diego County officials warned on Thursday.
Officials said scammers are trying to persuade people into sharing private information, including photos of their EBT and/or BIC cards as well as their Social Security or PIN numbers.

People are advised never to share photos of their EBT or Medi-Cal benefit cards as well as other personal information, such as their Social Security Number or PIN number.
People should also hang up if a caller asks for personal information, delete suspicious text messages and do not reply to social media postings asking for personal details…
