LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Entergy Arkansas officials said Thursday that Little Rock’s Women & Children First had received $53,227 in incentives through one of the utility’s programs.
Officials said the incentives came from energy-efficiency projects completed under the Entergy Solutions Large Commercial and Industrial program’s mission-based offering. The projects were part of Women & Children First’s construction of its new domestic violence shelter, the Forest of Hope Family Peace Center.

The incentives through the Entergy Solutions program are expected to save more than 212,910 kilowatt-hours of electricity through energy-efficiency upgrades, officials said. Improvements at the organization’s new shelter included interior and exterior lighting, lighting controls, HVAC systems and exhaust fan motors.
“For us, every dollar we save on utilities is another dollar we can invest directly into serving families and individuals impacted by domestic violence,” Women & Children First CEO Angela McGraw said. “Participating in the Entergy Solutions program helped us build a new facility with lower energy usage, and these savings strengthen our ability to provide a safe and supportive environment for the Arkansans who depend on us.”
