Man to stand trial in assault of Wichita police detective outside motel

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A burglary suspect accused of causing injury to a Wichita Police Department detective will stand trial.

On Thursday, Sedgwick County District Court Judge Roger Woods bound Dayten Pollard over for trial on charges of:

  • Two counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer
  • Battery of a law enforcement officer
  • Interference with a law enforcement officer
  • Burlgary
  • Theft

Pollard was arrested in March outside a North Broadway Avenue motel after police said he allegedly stole a Mercedes-Benz that had been left running in a driveway.
