A man killed by Longmont police earlier this week was out on bond in a domestic violence case in which he was charged with attempted murder, officials said.
Dariss Yearby, 20, was killed by Longmont police on Monday after he allegedly took a woman hostage and told police he had a gun. One of the responding officers shot Yearby after he refused to comply with officers’ commands.
The 20th Judicial District Attorney’s office on Thursday said in a news release that Yearby was a defendant in a pending domestic violence case at the time of his death.
