Cloudier skies this morning were seen across the state and Albuquerque. Showers and storms are forecasted to develop in the afternoon and linger this evening. Showers and storms might be more isolated in nature compared to scattered conditions because of the cloud coverage. A few showers and storms could drop locally heavy rainfall. Today’s forecast also features cooler high temperatures compared to what we experienced earlier this week across the Land of Enchantment. Temperatures are forecasted to reach the upper 70s and lower 80s in Gallup and Grants, which would keep them close to 10 degrees below normal for today. Overnight, temperatures are forecasted to fall into the 50s, 60s, and 70s across the state.
Friday’s forecast has additional showers and thunderstorms for New Mexico. Monsoon moisture is expected to remain over the state and shift farther east leading to scattered, to possibly widespread, shower and storms for a majority of the state. Locally heavy rainfall can’t be ruled out of the forecast for tomorrow too. Monsoon moisture will continue to remain over the Land of Enchantment through the weekend and into next week.
