A train stalled on a Union Pacific-owned rail and blocked traffic Aug. 13 on 12th Street NE between Center Street and the Amtrak station in Salem for about an hour during the early morning commute.
About a dozen commuters, passersby and other witnesses told the Statesman Journal the train, which included some cars bearing the BNSF logo, stopped around 5:30 a.m. before it finally started moving again at about 6:35 a.m.
