Three new eateries open in Austin despite shift in state-wide restaurant industry

AUSTIN (KXAN) — According to the Texas Restaurant Association‘s latest report, 88% of Texas restaurants reported higher food costs, and 66% reported higher labor costs and 52% saw traffic decrease.

Austin’s restaurant scene has seen a number of closures this year including Turf N’ Surf Po boy, Hoover’s Cooking, Vince Young Steakhouse and Michelin-starred Olamaie.

At the same time several new restaurants have opened in Austin, indicating a sign of a resiliency.
