ANN ARBOR, MI — It was in architecture school at the University of Michigan that Norm and Ilene Tyler met in the late 1960s.
“He was in my class,” Ilene Tyler said, recalling they and a handful of other students bonded while working late in the studio when most everyone else was gone.
“The thing that about half a dozen of us did was we used to sing,” she said. “And there would be people who would be just unshy enough that we would just sing old songs, current songs, popular songs — you know, show tune type things.”…
