Hamilton County declares state of emergency

The Hamilton County Commissioners declared a state of emergency Aug. 14 as flooding continued to worsen following additional rainfall overnight.

More than 30 roads have closed due to flooding, including major routes. State Road 37 is closed north of State Road 32 in Noblesville, and State Road 19 is closed between Logan Street and Field Drive in Noblesville. U.S. 31 is also closed near Tipton.

“Declaring a State of Emergency gives us the ability to respond quickly, coordinate resources and get help where it’s needed most,” stated Hamilton County Commissioner Steve Dillinger. “Our priority right now is keeping people safe and supporting the communities being hit hardest.”…
