Former Tennessee National Champion Shines In Return To Knoxville

Former Tennessee pitcher Nate Snead made his return to Knoxville last night, starting for the Rocket City Trash against the Smokies at Covenant Health Park.

Snead allowed just four hits and walked one batter in five scoreless innings against the Smokies. The tall right hander also struck out three batters. Snead’s strong outing was not enough for Rocket City to earn the victory with the Knoxville Smokies earning a 6-1 victory.

A Wisconsin native, Snead has started 20 games in his debut professional season. He made seven starts in High-A Tri-City before making his las 13 starts in Double-A Rocket City. Snead posted a 3-3 record, 2.70 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 35.1 innings pitched in High-A…
