Tedeschi Trucks Band continued their California run with Lukas Nelson on Thursday at the scenic Santa Barbara Bowl. The 12-piece ensemble dusted off a The Rolling Stones cover early in the night before welcoming Lukas Nelson and two members of his band for the encore.
TTB threw fans a curveball to open the set, leading off with the staple “Don’t Let Me Slide” rather than a song from 2026’s Future Soul, which has been the band’s usual choice this tour. The swerve proved brief, as “Crazy Cryin’” and “I Got You” followed to put the focus back on the new album.
A few songs later, the group revisited The Rolling Stones’ “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” for the first time since September 29, 2023. Mike Mattison handled lead vocals on the cut from the legendary band’s famed 1973 album Goats Head Soup as he did for the 13 versions of “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” played between June and September of 2023…
