Lafayette plans to mark 25th anniversary of 9/11

LAFAYETTE, LA. (KLFY) — A beam from the World Trade Center located in Downtown Lafayette serves as a local memorial honoring the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The artifact offers a designated location for community members to gather, reflect and pay their respects.

The memorial connects local residents to the broader history of the tragedy, which stands as one of the most severe attacks on American soil. Beyond serving as a place of reflection, the artifact highlights how emergency protocols and resource allocations for local first responders have evolved since the disaster.
