Woman safe after alleged assault and false imprisonment in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A woman is safe, and a Lincoln man is in jail following an investigation into a reported assault and false imprisonment Thursday.

Lincoln police officers responded to a reported disturbance in the area of 1st and P streets shortly after 3:30 p.m. Officers did not locate anything upon arrival.

Officers collected witness statements and reviewed surveillance video and determined that a 41-year-old woman had been assaulted by a man and then forced into a black Ford Expedition with no license plates. LPD identified the female victim and identified the possible suspect as 46-year-old Tate Wright.

The investigation led officers to a hotel in the area of 56th and Superior streets, where the victim and Wright were located in a room rented by the victim, police said. The Ford was sitting in the parking lot…
