LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders attended the opening night performance of “The Remarkable Resignation of Dr. Joycelyn Elders” at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre on Thursday, which also marked her 93rd birthday.
Following the production, Elders was presented with a proclamation from Mayor Frank Scott Jr. declaring Aug. 13, 2026, as Dr. Joycelyn Elders Day in the City of Little Rock.
Audience members and cast members also joined in singing “Happy Birthday” to Elders during the special celebration…
