Analysis: City of Bakersfield has invested over $100M in affordable housing developments since 2000

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Since 2000, the City of Bakersfield has contributed more than $100 million to nearly 50 affordable housing projects across the city.

According to data obtained by 17 News, across 49 affordable housing projects in Bakersfield, the city has contributed over $100 million to see them across the finish line. Some of the projects the city invested money into have more than 100 units in them – while some have as few as 10.
