Wilmington City Council to weigh more than $8.3M in housing and infrastructure spending

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington City Council will decide Tuesday on several major infrastructure and housing proposals, including a $1.5 million contribution to construct 86 affordable housing units and more than $6.8 million in local road improvement contracts

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Wilmington City Hall in the Skyline Center.

Affordable Housing Funding

Council members will vote on an agreement to contribute $1.5 million in affordable housing funds toward Dawson Lofts II at Jervay. Located at 883 Virgie Rhodes Lane, the proposed development will feature 86 affordable housing units. The total cost of the project is estimated at more than $28.46 million.

Dawson and Wooster Streetscape Improvements
