CAMILLUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Camillus police say a 54-year-old man told everyone inside a Sunoco he had a backpack full of explosives and that he would kill anyone who didn’t leave.
Chief Michael Schreyer of the Camillus Police Department told NewsChannel 9 | localsyr.com that officers were called to a robbery in progress at a Camillus Sunoco on W. Genesee St., right near Munro Park, just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 15.
Schreyer said the male suspect, now identified as 54-year-old Christopher Piedmont of Auburn, went into the Sunoco and told everyone inside he had a backpack full of explosives. Schreyer said Piedmont then ordered everyone out of the store by threatening to kill them if they didn’t leave.
