COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant held the ‘Miss America Send-Off Brunch’ on Sunday morning in the Grand Ballroom of the Green Island Country Club.
According to Miss Georgia officials, the brunch was intended to highlight and celebrate Miss Georgia 2026 Sophia Wootten, and Miss Georgia’s Teen 2026 Melony Tidmore, ahead of departing on August 31 for the Miss America and Miss America’s Teen 2027 Pageant.
Family, friends and prior Miss Georgia contestants gathered to recognize both Wootten and Tidmore’s accomplishments and success that has led up to this moment.
Wootten and Tidmore were crowned Miss Georgia 2026 and Miss Georgia’s Teen 2026 on June 20, deemed the final two standing out of an original 99 contestants.
“The Georgia state motto is ‘wisdom, justice, moderation’ and I really do perfectly believe that represents why being Miss America’s Teen has meant so much to me. I’ve lived in Georgia my entire life. My family’s roots go very deep into the state,” said Miss Georgia’s Teen 2026 Melony Tidmore.
