‘Stay off the roadways’: Honolulu Police asks residents to stay home amid Lala

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Police are asking residents to stay off the roads as Lala continues to impact the region.

Officers responded to more than 160 calls for service overnight, according to Major Clifford Ramson, commander of the department’s Major Events Division.

Of the 162 calls for service, 46 remain active as of Sunday morning, Ramson told KHON 2.

Flooding has closed the eastbound side of the H1 freeway, with motorists being directed off to the Punahou off-ramp. The Pali Highway is closed in both directions from Kamehameha Highway on the Kailua side to Waokanaka Street because of downed trees…
