WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has terminated its 287(g) agreement with Immigrations & Customs Enforcement.
Sheriff’s Office Captain Jonathan P. Morticelli confirmed the end of the agreement with ICE to CNY Central on Monday. Additional details about the end of the agreement were not revealed.
The termination comes just three weeks after Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James reached out to several sheriff’s offices across New York State demanding that their partnership with ICE end.
