LYNN COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has confirmed that a teen from O’Donnell, Texas, died and several others were injured following a crash near US Highway 380 and County Road HH on Saturday evening.
Preliminary reports by DPS officials say that at approximately 9:51 p.m., a vehicle driven by Gilberto Torres, 44, of Lubbock, Texas, was traveling east on US Highway 380 and County Road HH. At the same time, a second vehicle, driven by 18-year-old Brylee Renteria from O’Donnell, Texas, was traveling west on US 380, with four minor female passengers with her: two from O’Donnell, Texas, and two from Lamesa, Texas, approaching Torres’ vehicle. Torres drove on the wrong side of the roadway, into the path of Renteria’s vehicle, causing the cars to collide in the westbound lanes of travel…
