The rolled ice cream trend, it appears, has rolled on out of Wichita.
Freezing Moo, a chain that once had two locations in Wichita, has closed its east-side shop in Greenwich Place, at K-96 and Greenwich. The store closed for good about a week ago, said Tymber Lee, one of the partners who brought the concept to Wichita. It had been open since February 2018, operating in the same section of strip center that has Albero Bistro.
In October 2022, Lee and partners Cody Newton and Daniel Smith closed the west-side Freezing Moo, which opened in NewMarket Square in May 2018. Crumbl Cookies now occupies the space, which is at 2755 N. Maize Road.
Freezing Moo was part of a Kansas City-based chain that specialized in rolled ice cream prepared on freezer plates kept at -18 degrees. It once had stores in the Kansas City area and in Georgia, but it appears most if not all locations have since closed.
