WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An icon of early punk and later 1980s rock will play Wichita’s Orpheum Theatre as part of its grand reopening celebration.
Billy Idol will perform at the Orpheum in September. Idol’s career first took off in 1977 with Generation X, a foundational punk band, one of the first to blend the raw punk rock sound with pop rock, releasing three albums before Idol broke off for a solo career.
He’s best known for hits that include “Dancing With Myself,” “White Wedding,” Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without A Face,” and “Cradle of Love.”…
