Monday’s Five Facts
[1] New video shows moments leading up to fatal shooting outside Albuquerque smoke shop – Police are still trying to piece together what led to the shooting and death of a man in southeast Albuquerque. Police say Charles Richards shot and killed Dominic Hernandez outside of a smoke shop near Central and Louisiana last month. Video shows Richards chasing him just before he was shot and killed. Richards faces charges including murder, attempted robbery, and kidnapping. The four other men seen in surveillance video were arrested earlier this month. They are all facing a murder charge.
[2] NMSP investigating officer-involved shooting in Mora – An investigation is underway after a police shooting in northern New Mexico. According to New Mexico State Police, a suspect was shot in Mora following a domestic violence incident. The suspect was taken into custody, and no officers were hurt. NMSP has not said what law enforcement agency was involved in the shooting.
[3] Isolated storms and hotter temperatures continue across New Mexico this week – A monsoon pattern will continue across New Mexico this week, bringing above-average temperatures and isolated to scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms. The greatest potential for storms will be mainly focused over the higher terrain before storms drift into nearby valleys and plains. Most storms should be relatively short-lived, but locally heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and frequent lightning will be possible…
