Man who fled from troopers, tried to carjack vehicles at Case Western to be sentenced

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The now 19-year-old man who fled from Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and then tried to carjack several occupied vehicles at Case Western Reserve University, will be sentenced Tuesday.

Leon Terrell Jr., who was armed during the attempt carjackings, was shot in the leg by a trooper on the campus of Case Western while trying to flee.

In July, Terrell Jr. pleaded guilty to:

  • Two counts of aggravated robbery
  • One count of failure to comply with an order or signal of police officer
  • One count of unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance
  • One count of obstructing official business

His passenger, Noreonna Fields, 20, will be sentenced on Aug. 31…
