Venice track star Ryan Hawkins has been doing impressive things this summer, competing against some of the best athletes at his age in the country.
Most recently, Hawkins was at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, during the first week of August. There, he went head-to-head with 30 other track athletes aged 15 to 16 and competed in the decathlon at the AAU Junior Olympics.
To get there, Hawkins advanced through the district qualifier in Lakeland in early June before making a statement and earning a bid to the Junior Olympics after his performance at the regional qualifier in Orlando later in the month…
