Hearing in Genesis Mata case postponed as defendants, some attorneys not present

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The couple accused of the torture slaying of 8-year-old Genesis Mata were not in court for a scheduled hearing Tuesday, and neither were defense attorneys representing one of them.

The hearing couldn’t go forward without them so Judge John R. Brownlee rescheduled it for next week.
