LEXINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) Somewhere along the Minuteman Bikeway, on the border of Lexington and Bedford, a homemade sign has cyclists and walkers doing a double take.
It reads: “Robots Right Lane Only.”
The sign, posted without permission from either town, claims to represent the “Lexford Department of Robotic Affairs” — a fictional agency supposedly created to regulate autonomous robots. Neither Lexington nor Bedford has any record of approving it, and officials say they don’t know who put it up.
Betty Gau is on the Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee which regulates and puts up the signs along the bike path. She told WBZ NewsRadio that the sign mysteriously appeared one day and was first brought up during a meeting two months ago…
