In some ways it probably doesn’t matter what Amy Acton thinks about Issue 3, a proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution that would require voters to show a photo ID at the polls.
A Pew Research Center national poll conducted last year found that 83 percent of respondents favored “requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification.” (That included 71 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters.)
It’s therefore not a stretch to believe that Issue 3, which will appear on the November ballot, will pass handily. That hard truth hasn’t stopped many Ohio Democratic elected and party officials from opposing the measure…
