Waunakee school district adds 2 referendums to November ballot

WAUNAKEE, Wis. — Voters in the Waunakee Community School District will decide on two referendums this November after the school board voted unanimously last week to add them to the ballot.

The district will ask voters to approve a $10.5 million referendum that would cover operational expenses and employee pay through the 2030-31 school year. Another referendum will ask voters to approve $97.5 million to remove the older portion of Waunakee Community High School, make additions to the campus and renovate the school and athletic fields.

This will mark the third capital referendum put before Waunakee voters in the last 15 years. Voters greenlit a $44.8 million referendum in 2014 to add to Prairie Elementary, renovate Heritage Elementary and build Waunakee Intermediate School…
