Cyclist hurt in Eugene after driver blinded by morning sun

EUGENE, Ore. – A person riding a bike was hit by a car near West 2nd Avenue and Chambers Street on Tuesday morning, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said police responded to the crash at 6:55 a.m. on Aug. 18. Medics took the person to the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. He told officers the sun was in his eyes as he turned onto northbound Chambers Street and didn’t see the person on the bike until it was too late…
