Spokane Valley to settle in $3 million lawsuit following deadly car crash in 2022

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – City officials announced on Tuesday that all claims will be settled in a lawsuit filed against the city for $3 million, involving the death of Bryce Adame, who was killed in a single-vehicle accident in 2022.

The Spokane Valley City Council voted unanimously to settle these claims, and officials noted that Washington Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA), Spokane Valley’s insurance carrier, will pay the settlement amount.

The lawsuit, which took place over three years, was filed after Adame was killed in a crash at the intersection of East 16th Avenue and Bowdish Road. Adame was the passenger in a car that left the roadway after moving through a “stop sign-controlled intersection” and crashed…
