Rain chances rise quickly Thursday, starting with scattered showers after about 8 a.m. and shifting toward showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon, with the most active window currently expected from roughly 3 p.m. into the evening.
Forecasters put the chance of precipitation near 60% and say a quarter- to half-inch of rain could fall in spots. Stronger storms may bring damaging wind gusts, hail or an isolated tornado, particularly near and east of Interstate 95, while brief heavy rain could slow commutes and outdoor plans.
