BARRINGTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The fire that damaged a Barrington church Tuesday morning was caused by the improper disposal of incense ashes into a mulch bed, according to Rhode Island State Fire Marshal Timothy McLaughlin.
Firefighters rushed to St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Washington Road and discovered flames shooting up the wall of the church. Those flames were quickly extinguished and no one was injured.
