CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) — Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a 22-year-old man injured and led to the detention of four individuals at Mercy Hospital on Thursday.
Officers responded to a home at 1937 Maple Avenue NE around 1:30 a.m. on August 20, 2026, following 911 calls reporting a shooting into the residence.
Upon arrival, officers discovered extensive blood trails leading from the sidewalk, through the living room, and into the back rooms of the home. Officers conducted a safety sweep of the residence, finding three handguns in plain sight under a bed in the master bedroom, along with two identification cards.
