The Zips launched a contest granting one fan the opportunity to serve as the team’s “Offensive Coordinator of the Game” and assist in scripting the opening drive of Akron’s Sept. 12 home opener. However, the announcement of the finalists drew swift backlash, with fans alleging the drawing favored high-profile media personalities.
