COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An onslaught of overnight rain has resulted in multiple medical emergencies, school delays, the city to activate a floodwall and the National Weather Service to declare flash flood warnings throughout central Ohio.
At approximately 4:45 a.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency notification for the Franklin County area, which has since expired, but an extended flood warning is in effect until 4:15 p.m. The warning encompasses Franklin County, Fairfield County and Licking County, while surrounding counties such as Madison, Fayette, Delaware and Pickaway are on notice until at least 1:30 p.m., with those times subject to change.

At 5:32 a.m., Hardin County, Logan County and Union County also issued flash flood warnings until 9:30 a.m. while over a dozen central Ohio school districts have also announced a cancellation for Gahanna and Pickerington schools, and several two-hour delays, including Bexley, Reynoldsburg, Whitehall, and Westerville districts.
