Jury deliberation heads into second day without verdict in Huntsville capital murder trial

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A jury deliberated more than four hours Wednesday without reaching a verdict in the capital murder trial of Tye Stevens.

Stevens is accused of shooting and killing his neighbors, Sequoiya Lamar and D’Asia Morris, outside his apartment on Bonnell Drive in 2023.

After two days of witness testimony and closing arguments Wednesday morning, the jury could not decide whether Stevens acted in self-defense before the day ended…
