Ocala approves air show with Blue Angels with estimated economic impact of over $4.5 million

City leaders have approved three years of air shows at the Ocala International Airport that are projected to have yearly economic impacts in the millions, with annual lineups that will feature fireworks, drones, and the world-famous Blue Angels.

The Ocala City Council voted unanimously on Tuesday, August 18, to approve a professional services agreement with JLC AirShow Management, LLC to produce and manage the inaugural “Wings Over Ocala, Florida Airshow” at the Ocala International Airport, which is located at 1770 SW 60th Avenue.

The three-day festival is scheduled for April 30 through May 2, 2027, with follow-up spring events planned for 2028 and 2029. The lineup will be headlined by the United States Navy’s Blue Angels, with other aircraft also scheduled to participate.

Ocala-News.com reported news of the proposed air show over the weekend. After hearing the news, several residents wrote letters in support of the event.
