Q Street reopening delayed again to October, frustrating southwest Omaha business owners

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Rainy weather is not what several southwest Omaha business owners want to see. It means another delay on a street construction project that has already slowed customer traffic.

Frustration builds

Candy Barber leads a team at Ziggi’s Coffee near 204th and Q. She says customers ask her daily when Q Street will reopen.

“I’ll bet I get questions 12 to 15 times a day of when Q Street is going to open. It’s very frustrating,” Barber said.

A mile of Q Street has been closed from 192nd to 204th Street since late April 2025 — still closed 16 months later. It is a Douglas County project…
