AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man convicted in the 2025 fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy during a sleepover at a southeast Austin home has been sentenced to 40 years in prison, according to Travis County court records.
Victor Orellana-Carranza was convicted of murder and sentenced Tuesday in Travis County’s 450th District Court. Court records show he was ordered to serve 40 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
The case stems from the shooting death of Neithan Jadiel Montenegro, 15, at a home on Hammermill Run, near East Stassney Lane and South Pleasant Valley Road.
