Fort Wayne Launches ‘MAKE IT DOWNTOWN’ 10-Year Downtown Plan and Opens Public Survey

Fort Wayne is about to write the next chapter for its downtown core—and city leaders want residents to help hold the pen.

The city’s news release on the MAKE IT DOWNTOWN plan introduces MAKE IT DOWNTOWN: A Plan for Fort Wayne’s Next Decade, a new 10-year strategic blueprint to guide what gets built, funded, and prioritized in the urban core over the next decade. Philadelphia-based planning firm Interface Studio, LLC is leading the effort, hired last April.

The stakes are real. Fort Wayne’s last downtown plan, Blueprint for the Future, was adopted in 2003 and helped anchor more than $1 billion in downtown investment over the following two decades—delivering Parkview Field, The Landing, Electric Works, Promenade Park, the Ash Skyline Tower, and the Pearl Arts Center, among others…
