Family to host Saturday flea market to raise funds for José Antonio Villafana’s prosthetic leg .
BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A few months after buying a new pair of sneakers, José Antonio Villafana finally wore them and spent the day “happy and content.” But he said that when he got home and took the shoes off, he was hit with sudden, intense pain.
“I put them on and walked around all day, happy and content. Then I got home and took them off. When I took them off, I felt an excruciating pain in the bottom of my foot,” Villafana said.
Villafana said the pain worsened, and he soon woke up with severe sores and blisters. He waited days before telling his family because he did not want to worry them…
