Some excited, others concerned as soccer complex debuts new lighting near nature preserve

KALAMAZOO, MI — Residents have voiced concerns about stadium lights slated to debut at a Western Michigan University soccer complex next week.

A donation-funded $200,000 lighting upgrade was completed recently at the WMU Soccer Complex at 4590 Campus Drive, in time for the first home game.

WMU will turn on the lights for regular season competition on Thursday, Aug. 27, with a men’s and women’s soccer doubleheader.
