Double drive-by shooting of two Columbus men remains unsolved

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The homicide of two men who had recently started new careers remains unsolved nine years after their deaths.

According to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, officers responded to a reported shooting near the intersection of Traymore Place and Republic Avenue in East Linden. Police found Theodore Stokes and Daryll Gavin, lying on a front porch, suffering from gunshot wounds at 1:50 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2017.

Police suspect the incident was a drive-by shooting and that a light green van was reportedly seen leaving the scene. The van was located a short time later, but a suspect was never identified.

The victims had just started new jobs – Gavin, who died several days after the shooting, with Honda, and Stokes, who was pronounced dead at the scene, with a temp agency…
