SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A person ran inside a burning home to rescue an infant in the early morning hours of Aug. 23, according to Syracuse Fire Chief Michael Monds.
Monds told NewsChannel 9 that when firefighters were sent to a home on Helen Street just before 1 a.m., they were told people were trapped inside. Monds said that firefighters believe there was an infant and an adult trapped inside.
Monds said a person who knew there was an infant inside ran inside the burning home to save the infant.
Monds said the infant was unresponsive and unconscious when they were brought out to first responders, who immediately started doing CPR on the child. Monds said the infant had a pulse before they were transported to the hospital…
