Will owners demolish 126-year-old home near Pierce County waterfront?

The new owners of a historic residence on the Gig Harbor waterfront are proposing to tear it down and replace it with a new home, according to records in the Gig Harbor permit portal.

In March, Aaron and Kristine Yetter, a married couple, purchased the property at 3509 Harborview Dr. from Francis J. Ivanovich for $2 million, according to a real estate excise tax affidavit. In a request for a pre-application conference with the city of Gig Harbor, the Yetters proposed replacing the two structures on the property with a new four-bedroom house and attached garage.

“The owner intends to subdivide the parcel at the earliest available opportunity, and create a vacant 6,000SF parcel at the corner of Harborview Drive and Novack St.,” their application says.
