WARREN — Polish heritage, music and community will once again take center stage in Warren when the Polish Day Parade returns Aug. 29 as part of the city’s annual Birthday Bash.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 4:10 p.m., with participants lining up beginning at 3 p.m. at Cousino High School. The procession will end near the Warren Civic Center, where the city’s Birthday Bash festivities will be underway.
This marks the fifth year the longtime Polish Day Parade will be held in Warren after moving from Hamtramck, though the parade’s history in metro Detroit stretches back decades. Early Polish Constitution Day celebrations were held on Belle Isle before the event eventually moved to Hamtramck in the 1970s.
